Daniel Overfelt, DMD Periodontist
Originally from central Florida, Dr. Overfelt earned his Bachelor of Science in Community Health from the University of North Florida in Jacksonville. During his undergraduate career, Dr. Overfelt dedicated time to patient care at Brooks Rehabilitation, where he developed a passion for improving the quality of life of others. Dr. Overfelt pursued his dental training at the University of Florida, where he earned his D.M.D. Recognized for his commitment to ethical practice, Dr. Overfelt received the ethics award during dental school. He actively participated in several clinics aimed at serving underprivileged communities by providing basic dental needs. He also piloted an elementary school program to teach children the importance of oral health.
Dr. Overfelt went on to complete his Periodontology Residency Program at Texas A&M University in Dallas, Texas. While completing his advanced studies in Periodontology, he earned a Master of Science in Oral Biology. During his residency, he conducted research on potential causes of peri-implantits to better understand and enhance patient outcomes.
Dr. Overfelt earned the Quintessence Award in Periodontics for excellence while in school and has participated in several research opportunities to help further the field of Periodontology. Proficient in the latest treatment methodologies and technologies, he offers comprehensive periodontal care, encompassing all aspects of treatment. Dr. Overfelt is an active member of the American Academy of Periodontology, the American Dental Association, and the Seattle Study Club.
Dr. Overfelt enjoys spending his free time with his wife and two dogs, Charlie and Louise. A true Floridian at heart, Dr. Overfelt enjoys outdoor activities and weekends spent hiking, traveling, and eating BBQ.
